TEEN YOUTH GROUP (TYG) is a comprehensive, Catholic youth ministry program for teenagers. The goal of the program is to create an environment to lead teens into a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Catholic Church.
TYG speaks to teens on all levels: emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual. Out-reach events within St. Vincent Ferrer Church and our community, fundraisers, and opportunities to earn community service hours are available. We also offer a weekend retreat in Orlando each year.
The primary objective is to encourage teens to realize a deeper relationship with Christ and to challenge them to live their faith as they carry out their daily lives. Teens experience this sharing in an atmosphere of love and acceptance from their peers and the adult mentors who are there to assist them in their journey.
In order for TYG to achieve its full potential, the full support of the St. Vincent Ferrer parish family is essential. The youth ministry leader works closely with the priest and church staff and initiates, organizes, and oversees the program among a Core Team of trained adult mentors. The Core Team is made up of adults who are 21 years old and older. Each Core mentor is mandated to satisfy all teachings, fingerprints, and background checks required by the Diocese to undertake this position.
TEEN YOUTH GROUP meets most Sunday evenings beginning with attendance at the 5:30 pm Mass to 8:30 pm at a facility on campus. The night includes dinner and something new and creative each week for the teens to participate in. There is NO cost to attend!
